The Association of Public Media in Florida is the non-profit association of 26 public radio stations and public television stations in Florida.
FPBS was created by its independent member stations in 1977 to represent their interests before state and national stakeholders. FPBS brings the power of statewide impact to its member stations and sponsors across the state and the nation.
FPBS stations reach 99% of Florida’s population through broadcast, online tools, and outreach.
Each independent station works to strengthen the community, empower families, and educate the public throughout their local markets, and as they serve their communities, FPBS serves them.
Bringing a statewide perspective to each station’s work, FPBS engages with legislators, business and non-profit leaders, and the media to tell the public broadcasting story and advocate for station needs.
As a statewide association, FPBS writes and submits grants, coordinates the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network (FPREN), and the Florida PBS LearningMedia initiatives.
FPBS enhances the efforts of member stations and serves as the united voice of Public Broadcasting in Florida.
