What We Do

While public radio and television stations began primarily as educational outlets, FPBS members have grown in the ensuing decades to showcase more of Florida’s diversity and fulfill Floridians’ needs.

In addition to remaining a powerful educational resource for Florida residents through programming, community engagement, and online resources, FPBS stations create a vital link in the state’s Emergency Management Network, via the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network (FPREN) which communicates emergency information through its system of free over-the-air FM radio and multiple mobile applications.

FPBS stations also serve to keep Floridians informed on the latest news and information coming from our Local, County, and State Governments.
